TinyElephant is a microscropic reminder program. You can put it into your Startup Items folder and run it in 40K or less. You can create reminders of future events and it will remind you of them. Events can be daily, weekly, monthly or yearly. I use it to remember my twice daily eye drops. There are no frills and no plans to add features. But it is free.
To create a new "date" select "New". Above the line you fill in the time/date fields, using 24 hour time. Below the horizontal line you fill in a message. These dates are stored as resources in a new file which is created in the system folder the first time you run this program.
When it is time for the next date, the program will put up the same display again. You can edit the date/message fields to repost the same note, or just close the window to discard it. A changed note will be reposted. If the time was not changed, it will immediately pop up again. When a note is already open the program will just beep if another one comes due. It will pop up as soon as the first one is closed.
Internally this program uses a single Text Edit record. The Tab key shifts from one edit field to the next. The date fields are limited to zero to two characters each. Typing a third character selects the next field. Deleting past the beginning of a date field selects the previous field. Hence it is almost like typing a continuous field, although internally quite different.
There is no way to edit or review future notes. It works fine for me, but it is completely unsupported. It is unlikely that I will ever add features or even fix bugs. The source code will not be released, because it is substantially based upon a Think C example program.
